CHURCH ADMINISTRATOR NEEDED AT COMMUNITY CHURCH OF KEYPORT
The Community Church of Keyport (CCK) is a welcoming and affirming congregation; part of a network of Reformed Churches under the Reformed Church in America (RCA) aegis and duly aligned with the United Church of Christ. The church is focused on its feeding ministries, social outreach, Christian Education, and Sunday worship service. Currently, there are approximately 50 members.
We are seeking a Church Administrator to manage the day-to-day duties required to keep the church fully functional from an operational perspective. The individual will be supported by the Pastor, Classis Supervisor, and members of the consistory, to ensure that all administrative functions are performed timely and accurately.
The 10 hour per week work schedule is flexible but may require the individual to coordinate with other’s schedules if meetings are needed.
The administrator’s responsibilities will include the following:
Oversight of the Church Chatter – a monthly informational publication for church members. This job is currently being performed by a congregation member.
Preparation of the weekly church bulletin, pew news, music sheets and communion inserts.
Payment of bills – bi-monthly.
Church mailings
Copying reports/email for consistory as needed.
Check telephone messages at least twice per week and follow up accordingly.
Pick up / drop off church mail at the post office at least twice per week.
Maintain the member birthday register and church calendar.
Update membership lists / record book as needed.
Update / create mailing lists / labels as needed.
Coordinate with Building and Grounds chair on building usage and scheduling.
Coordinate with Sexton regarding scheduling conflicts/changes.
Ensure that the inventory of office supplies is adequate (i.e., mailing envelopes, labels, copy
paper, postage stamps, bulletins, offering envelopes stationery and general office supplies).
Assist Pastor with development of Denominational Reports.
Deacon’s and Benevolence accounts – manage deposits, disbursements, and monthly reconciliation.
General filing.
Maintain copy machine – order supplies, monthly meter reading, service tech.
Update Caring Connections list as needed.
Shopping for church fellowship hour and cleaning supplies.
Ordering all items needed for all committees except Building & Grounds.
Point of contact for Landscaper, Keyport Hispanic Ministry, tenant, and pulpit supply (in the absence of Pastor)
Any other duties that may be assigned by the Pastor or Consistory VP (in absence of Pastor).
Qualifications:
Office management, secretarial or related experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Computer literacy with Word, Excel, Internet, and social media (i.e., Facebook)
Compensation:
Compensation: $20 per hour.
Benefits are not available with this position.
